How to charge a specific $/unit cost to a customer for labor
In this example, we're looking at how you can input a $/unit cost for the labor cost of a particular part in your estimate.
Simple Steps:
Let's say you're installing a ceramic tile floor and you want to charge $1.50/square foot for the installation labor. Well, that's easy!
-
First, Open the Part by clicking on the pencil
-
Make sure the “Labor Cost Calculation” is checked
-
Click the “Hours/unit” and select “$/unit”
-
Type in the $/unit that you want for labor cost of this item
-
[Optional] Adjust your labor rate to get an accurate estimate for labor hours. Labor hours are calculated like this:
$/Unit cost x Quantity / Labor Rate = Labor Hours.
